DESCRIPTION:Presented by Country Arts SA\, City of Port Lincoln and Family Violence Legal Service Aboriginal Corporation (SA). \nNUNGA SCREEN Community Event\, held this Thursday 28th May 2026 – 5:30pm Start (length 45 mins) – Nautilus Arts Centre Port Lincoln\, Free Entry-All Ages (suitable for kids aged 3 and over)\, All Welcome. \nNUNGA SCREEN 2026\nNunga Screen returns for its 15th year of powerful storytelling\, celebrating First Nations culture\, language and creativity through film. Presented annually between Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week\, free community events bring together audiences of all ages to experience stories of history\, humour\, community and connection to Country. \nThis year’s YOUNG AUDIENCE program features a dynamic mix of short films from emerging and established First Nations filmmakers across Australia. From the cheeky\, fast-paced adventures of Red Dirt Riders to the gentle\, funny tale of The Fix-It-Man and The Fix-It Wooman and a music video collaboration between Dem Mob and Fregon Anangu School; the program offers plenty for family audiences. The lineup also includes moving documentaries such as Anangu Way\, following a father and son reconnecting through culture on Country\, and Making a Pulgi\, with 2019 Don Dunstan Award for Emerging Aboriginal Artists winner Cedric Varcoe.  \nNunga Screen is a celebration of culture\, a chance to listen deeply and to come together in recognition of First Nations voices and stories.

DESCRIPTION:NAIDOC Week 2026 – 50 Years of Deadly \nNAIDOC Week 2026 marks a significant milestone\, celebrating 50 Years of Deadly—honouring five decades of strength\, resilience\, culture\, leadership and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Held from 5–12 July 2026\, this year’s theme recognises the generations of Elders\, community leaders\, artists\, advocates and changemakers who have shaped the NAIDOC movement and continue to inspire future generations. \nNAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate the world’s oldest continuing cultures\, learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories\, and acknowledge the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country\, Community and Culture. The 2026 theme reflects on how far the movement has come\, celebrates the achievements of today\, and looks ahead to a strong future led by the next generation. \nAcross the Far West Coast\, Eyre Peninsula regions and Adelaide\, Communities will gather to celebrate through cultural activities\, community events\, performances\, workshops\, family fun days and opportunities to connect\, learn and share.
